During our four-session From Page to Screen workshop at the Painted Bride Art Center this fall, we focused on Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, the first book in his best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. After watching the film version and participating in a lively discussion about its strengths and weaknesses, the Spells screenwriters tried their hand at adapting extra scenes to make the movie better. These short scenes include toilet bowl swirlies, epic battles, and a celebratory dance party in the underworld. Enjoy!
